- TWO LANDSCAPES Picture of Slovakia: 19th Century x the Present Time

The Slovak National Gallery exhibition entitled Two Landscapes / Picture of Slovakia: 19th Century # the Present Time demonstrates the transformations of Slovak landscape in 19th century art; it also shows how well contemporary art from the 1970s up to today acquitted itself when dealing with this theme. This multi-genre and trans-historical project comprised of abundant material (drawings, graphic artwork, photographs, paintings, sculptures and objects, installations, videos, actions and performances) shows the breadth and diversity of the depiction of the Slovak countryside as a topographically defined location, adapted and interpreted by 19th century artists as well as contemporary artists.

- Month of Photography festival
We would like to invite you for the 24th edition of the international Month of Photography festival which will be held from the 3rd of November until the 30th of November in 30 galleries and museums in Bratislava.
The festival offers a unique chance to learn about the outstanding work of Central-European authors as well as stars of European photography for example: The Slovak New Wave of the 80s, Rudolf Koppitz 1884 - 1936 (Austria), Jurij Kozyrev (Russia), Pierre a Gilles ( France) , Gabriele Basilico 1944 - 2013 (Italy) and the winners of the SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2014.

In the seventh year of the festival Dolce Vitaj a touring market with typical Italian products will stop over in Bratislava for three days. On the Primaciálne Square and Hviezdoslavovo Square from June 19 to 22 you will have the opportunity to taste specialties, from Italian olives through to cheeses, sausages, and to desserts. There will even be classic domestic products such as honey, pickles in oil, olive oil and wine.

On Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 to 15:00 at a marketplace in the building of the Old Market you will be able to buy seasonal food produced and grown by farmers and small producers from Bratislava, as well as high-quality specialties from other countries. On offer will be seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat and dairy products, baked goods, confectionery and beverages. The market will include an accompanying program full of educational and fun activities for children and adults.
- International Guitar Festival of J.K. Mertz
On June 24 to 29, the 39th International Guitar Festival of J.K. Mertz will be held, which will present, for example, American lute player Paul O‘Dette, Antonio Rey and Ricardo Gallen from Spain, Brazilian-Uruguayan duo Duo Siqueira Lima, Czech-Slovak jazz trio Michal Bugala, Libor Šmoldas, Robert Balzar, and Oman Kaminsky from Mexico. Apart from concerts the festival will offer master classes, an international competition, seminars, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions.
- The School Dance 2014

On June 18 from 13:00, the new building of the Slovak National theatre will host the ﬁnals of the third edition of the international dance competition of pupils of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. A new feature of this year‘s event will be the participation of foreign schools from the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland.

Devin Castle will come alive with history on June 29. When you come to see the ruins of the castle, you will also be able to see duels of knights on horseback performed by members the Brotherhood of Old Martial Arts and Crafts. From June 19 to 22, the 17th International Festival of Children‘s Folklore Ensembles will be held, at which each year more than 1,200 childrenin folklore groups from around the world perform. The festival will showcaseperformances of more than 700children from all districts of Bratislava,the folklore ensembles Čečinka,Čunovsky Kŕdeľ, Gerulata, Grbarčieta,CRIP, Kobylka, Klnka, Lúčka, Madovec,Margaréta, and Prvosienka from Bratislava and Šamorín. Foreign folklore will be represented by groupsfrom Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Serbia and Turkey.

Do Not Sit at Home. Share Your Town. This is the first time the Bratislava Tourist Board decided to organize such an untraditional event.
