The Port will hopefully be a
place where people work as well as relax and live; it will be, as the name suggests,
a harbour for whole families and people of various ages. The costs associated
with the first phase of the project are expected to reach €280 million. Spread
over an area of 95
hectares, the retail park will include supermarkets,
hobby markets, furniture shops, and electronics shops. The retail park is
scheduled for opening by the end of 2009, and the world’s leading brands will
be represented there. It is envisaged that the largest shopping and
entertainment centre, Port Mall, will be opened to the public at the end of
2010. It will cover a rentable area of 70,000 square metres
suitable for water world facilities, a technical museum, a cinema, a fitness
centre and a number of other attractions. The second phase will see housing
development between 2010 and 2012.
